Chinese National Capabilities Sheet


All Chinese use Chinese (i.e., two-tone color) SW, Guns, and Vehicles. Neither Red nor G.M.D. Chinese treat Chinese SW/Guns as Captured, even if one side captures them from the other during play (G18.4).

Ordnance To Hit color: Red

OBA Access : 5 black/2 red (C1.211); if the Majority Squad Type of the full Chinese OB is 5-37, its OBA is assumed to have Plentiful Ammunition; if the Majority Squad Type is 3-3-7 or 3-3-6, it is assumed to have Scarce Ammunition (G18.42).

Radio Contact: 8 if the Majority Squad Type of the Chinese OB is 5-37, 7 if that Majority Squad Type is 4-4-7, 6 otherwise (G18.421).

A Chinese HS, or infantry-crew, being used as a Temporary Crew (A21.22) receives a +2 DRM to its (A21.22) AFV Start dr (G18.43).

A Gun, 76-82mm MTR, or Vehicle of the Chinese side which is Captured by the opponent has its VP value quadrupled (G18.44).

Chinese may make Human Wave attacks (A25.23 - 25.231, G18.5).

Chinese may designate 10% (FRU) of his squads (during pregame setup) as Dare-Death Squads (Exc: no 5-3-7 may be so designated) (G18.6) [Note: Dare-Death Squads may engage in hand-to-hand combat like the Japanese (G18.62)].

In Chinese-vs-Japanese scenarios set in/after 1938, No Quarter (A20.3) is always in effect - Mopping Up (A12.153) cannot be used (G18.7).

For Interrogation (E2) purposes, G.M.D. Personnel are always considered to be in a neutral country, Red Chinese in a friendly country (G18.71).

Special Ammunition Depletion Numbers are increased by one for Elite units (C8.2, An92, An95w, An96).

Assault Engineers, Sappers, Commandos are Elite units (H1.22 - .24).

G.M.D. (Nationalists)

Use blue with brown border counters for the Nationalists (G18.1).

G.M.D. Personnel cannot Deploy (Exc: A20.5; A21.22), are always Lax at night, have a 0 HOB DRM (Nationality), and receive an extra +1 DRM for Leader Creation purposes (G18.2).

All G.M.D. Chinese (Exc: Elite) must pass a 1PAATC instead of a PAATC when required (G18.2, A11.6, A12.41, D7.21).

Red (Communists)

Red Chinese use Partisan MMC/SMC counters - crews use Russian crew counters. All Red Chinese are considered Partisans for all purposes but are immune to Cowering (G18.3).

On a Final DR greater than or equal to 12 Partisans become Beserk (A15.5).

Red Chinese may use Commissars (A25.22 - .223); if a Commissar fails to rally a Red Chinese unit, that unit is not Replaced/eliminated - it simply remains broken (Exc; Fate A10.64) (G18.31)

On a Final HOB DR greater than or equal to 12 Red Chinese (Partisans) become Beserk (A15.5).
